Supercritical CO2 Dyeing Equipment Working Principle:

Characterized by higher diffusion coefficient and lower viscosity, supercritical fluid boasts good transitivity and extremely low surface tension, making it easy to infiltrate into the inner structure of fibers, which determines its advantage of using as a medium in the dyeing process. Categorized as non-polar molecule, CO2 is suitable for dyeing of hydrophobic synthetic fibers, among which polyester fiber is an important type, characterized by stronger hydrophobicity, less dyeing groups, poorer moisture absorption ability and smaller expansion in water. It is only easy to get dyed by dyestuff with small molecular weight and hard to get dyed with hydrophilic dyestuff. Furthermore, it’s hard to get polyester fiber dyed deep enough to realize a durable luster. Supercritical CO2 dyeing makes dyestuff infiltrate into polyester fiber in a better way, intensify its swelling, accelerate dyestuff molecule’s diffusion and transmission, hence speed up the bonding of dyestuff molecule and polyester fiber.
